Return Policy
Furniture
Furniture must be returned within 30 days of delivery. We encourage you to inspect your merchandise upon receipt. Returns will not be accepted if defects and damages are not reported within 48 hours of delivery. Refunds will not be issued without a receipt.
Delivery fees are non-refundable. Returns will be charged a 15% restocking fee and $85 pick-up fee. Furniture delivery is limited to locations within the 48 contiguous United States. JCPenney will not deliver to known expeditors or freight forwarders. JCPenney is not responsible for and will have no liability for pick up or delivery by non-JCPenney delivery agents.
Items shipped via UPS should be returned via UPS in the original box. Customers are responsible for return postage. Furniture returns are not accepted in store. Customers should retain the invoice and call customer care 1-800-322-1189 for return instructions.
Mattress
Mattresses must be returned within 120 days of delivery. We encourage you to inspect your merchandise upon receipt. Returns will not be accepted if defects and damages are not reported within 48 hours of delivery. Refunds will not be issued without a receipt.
Delivery fees and Mattress Haul Away Service fees are non-refundable. Returns will be charged a 15% restocking fee and the pick-up fee will be waived if an alternate mattress is selected. If an alternate mattress is not selected there will be a 20% restocking fee and an $85 pick-up fee. Mattress delivery is limited to locations within the 48 contiguous United States. JCPenney will not deliver to known expeditors or freight forwarders. JCPenney is not responsible for and will have no liability for pick up or delivery by non-JCPenney delivery agents.

Mattress Recycling
Currently, California, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Oregon have enacted mattress recycling programs. These programs are funded through a visible recycling fee collected at retail from customers on each mattress and box spring sold in the state. The fee varies by state and applies to each mattress and box spring sold directly to California, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Oregon consumers. We are required by law to charge the mattress recycling fee on each mattress and box spring sold to consumers in participating states. The recycling fee is a flat rate regardless of mattress size or type. The recycling fee is charged per unit, which means that each mattress and each box spring is considered a separate unit.
The mattress recycle fees, applicable by participating states are as follows:

You’ll see a flat rate mattress recycle fee per unit on your checkout total. As an example, for a California consumer ordering a queen size mattress set, the total mattress recycling fee would be $32 before sales tax is applied. Please note that the recycle fee does not count toward the free shipping order minimum, and is not eligible for earning or redeeming JCPenney Coupons and Rewards.
Effective January 1, 2020, futons have been added to California’s definition of “mattress.” We are required by law to charge a recycling fee of $16.00 on each futon sold. The fee and recycling obligations apply only to the futon mattresses and do not apply to the futon frames or bases.

Haul Away
We will remove your old mattress for a $25 fee. Delivery Professionals may refuse mattress removals when unsanitary or unsafe. Delivering to California? As of January 1, 2021, California law requires that JCPenney offer no-charge take-back of a customer's used mattress and/or box spring when the sold mattress and/or box spring is delivered within the state of California. Delivery professionals may refuse mattress removals when unsanitary or unsafe. The haul away charge will be removed once you select a California delivery address upon checkout.

Truck Delivery Information
- Some heavy or bulky items cannot be delivered via UPS, USPS, or FedEx. These items must be delivered via truck.
- You will be contacted to set up a delivery date after product has arrived to delivery agent. Delivery agent will contact you the day prior to delivery with a two-hour delivery window plus contact you approximately 30 minutes prior to actual delivery.
- Delivery agents will assemble, inspect, touch up and rewrap item prior to delivery. Agents will deliver item to your room of choice and remove all packaging materials.
- Signature is required
- After delivery, you may be contacted about your satisfaction. All contacts may be automated calls to the number you provided for delivery.

Standard Delivery
- Standard Delivery is applicable to “quick ship” furniture.

- If product size and/or weight exceeds the limit set by small-parcel carriers, product deliveries by LTL (less than truckload) shipping services, delivered to mailbox or doorstep.
